Terms of sale

1. About these terms

These terms govern your purchase from Stealthline Shop. The shop is operated by Stealthline, an Australian sole trader, ABN 52 656 939 154, referred to below as “Stealthline”, “we”, “our” or “us”.

By placing an order you accept these terms. Please read clause 2 before you buy: the devices we sell are pre-owned, and clause 9 sets out what warranty applies to them.

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law — see clause 8.

2. The devices we sell

The phones we sell are second-hand. They are sourced from Australian retail stock, not imported grey-market units, and each one is checked before it is dispatched. They are not new, they are not sold as new, and they do not arrive in factory-sealed packaging.

What that means in practice:

  • Cosmetic condition. A device may show light signs of previous use. We do not sell devices with cracked glass, failed screens or housing damage.
  • Battery. A battery in a used phone has aged and will not hold the charge a new one does. We check battery health before dispatch, and the condition stated on each product page is what we hold that device to.
  • What is in the box. The phone and a compatible charging cable, which is not necessarily the manufacturer’s original. Original packaging, chargers, headphones and printed material are not included unless the product page says otherwise.
  • Software. Each device is wiped and carries no data from any previous owner.

Every phone we sell runs GrapheneOS, not the manufacturer’s version of Android. That is the point of the shop rather than an incidental detail: it is an independent, open-source Android with the Google services and the tracking removed, and it is why we sell Pixels and nothing else. To install it the bootloader is unlocked and then locked again behind the new system, which is a thing Pixel hardware permits and most phones do not.

You should understand what that costs before you buy. Removing Google from Android removes the things that depend on Google:

  • Google Play is not installed by default. It can be run in a sandbox as an ordinary app, and most Play Store apps then work, but that is a step you take rather than the state the phone arrives in.
  • Some banking and similar apps will refuse to run, because they check for Google certification rather than for actual security. Which ones changes over time and is outside our control. If a particular app is essential to you, ask us before you order — we would rather answer than have you receive a phone that does not do what you needed.
  • Tap-to-pay does not work. Google Wallet will not run on GrapheneOS.
  • Android Auto and some Google-tied features are limited or unavailable, and nothing restores from a Google backup.

Our FAQ explains this in plainer terms. None of it is a fault in the device, and a device behaving as described here is not a device that has failed.

Product photographs are representative of the model, not of the individual device you will receive.

3. The options you can add

Three options can be added to a phone. Each is priced per phone, and the price is shown before you add anything to your cart.

Disconnecting the cameras. This is physical work: the device is opened and the camera modules are disconnected inside it. They are disconnected, not cut out — the hardware stays where it is and simply has no electrical connection. Please read the whole of this before choosing it, because it changes the phone permanently in ways that go beyond the camera app.

  • Every camera stops working — front and rear. Not just the main array.
  • Face unlock and video calling will not work, and neither will anything else that needs to see: QR code scanning, Google Lens, document scanning, video messaging. Some apps may refuse to start, or may report a hardware fault, rather than simply hiding the camera.
  • The device is no longer water or dust resistant. Opening a phone breaks the factory adhesive seal, and we do not restore its original rating. Treat a modified phone as having no water resistance at all, whatever the model was rated at when it was new. Liquid damage is not covered by our warranty — see clause 9.
  • The device will show that it has been opened. That can affect on-device diagnostics, and it affects any repair service offered by the manufacturer.
  • It can be undone, but only by us. We will reconnect the cameras on request; you pay for the work and the postage both ways. Opening the phone yourself, or having a third party do it, ends our warranty and is at your own risk.
  • We record the modification against your order, so there is a record of exactly what was done to your device.

Mullvad VPN. Mullvad is a third-party service operated by a company unconnected with us. We supply a subscription for the number of months you select and instructions for using and renewing it. Renewing it afterwards is your responsibility, and your use of that service is governed by Mullvad’s own terms, not ours. We do not control its availability, its performance or its pricing.

Preinstalled software. Where you ask us to preinstall privacy software, those applications are written and licensed by their own authors and are provided to you as they are. We do not warrant them, and your use of each is governed by its own licence. You can decline this option and install whatever you prefer yourself.

4. Placing an order

Placing an order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we dispatch your order, not when you pay and not when the payment page confirms. Until then we may decline the order, and if we do we will refund you in full.

We may decline an order where:

  • we cannot source a device in the condition described;
  • the price or description was obviously wrong — if a pricing error is clear on its face, we are not required to sell at that price, and we will tell you and refund you rather than quietly dispatching something else;
  • we cannot deliver to your address, or the order appears fraudulent;
  • fulfilling it would be unlawful in your country or in ours.

You do not need an account to buy. Your order confirmation email is your record of the order, and for a guest order it is the only way back to it — keep it.

5. Prices, GST and payment

All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. A tax invoice is issued with your order. Postage is shown separately at checkout before you pay, and is priced from the delivery address — see clause 6.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s own page and are never received by us: we are told only the brand of the card and its last four digits, so that we can match a payment to an order and refund it if needed. You are charged when you complete the payment. If the payment does not complete, no order exists.

Prices can change at any time. A change never affects an order already placed.

6. Delivery

We aim to dispatch within 2 working days of cleared payment. Where a device needs the camera disconnected, allow longer — that is physical work and we will tell you if it will take more than a few days.

Once dispatched, the usual delivery windows are:

  • Within Australia, regular post: 8–10 business days.
  • Within Australia, express post: 4–6 business days.
  • International: ~15 days. There is one international service; express is not offered outside Australia.

Those windows are estimates, not guarantees. They describe the carrier’s usual performance from the point of dispatch and exclude weekends, public holidays and any delay in customs. We are not able to control a carrier.

Risk passes to you on delivery. Title passes when we have been paid in full. If a parcel arrives damaged, tell us within 7 days and we will deal with it.

International orders. Any import duty, tax, customs charge or handling fee levied by the destination country is yours to pay, and is not included in the price or the postage you paid us. Customs may open a parcel. Where a parcel is refused, abandoned or returned because a charge was not paid, we will refund the goods but not the postage.

7. Changing your mind

You may return a phone for any reason within 14 days of delivery, including a device we have modified for you. Australian law does not require us to accept a change-of-mind return; we do.

To use it, the device must be:

  • in the condition you received it, other than reasonable handling;
  • complete, with the cable and anything else that came with it; and
  • signed out of every account, with any device lock removed — a locked phone cannot be checked or resold, and we cannot accept it.

Email [email protected] with your order reference first, so we can tell you where to send it. You pay the return postage, and we recommend a tracked service: until it reaches us it is your parcel. Once it arrives and has been checked we refund the price of the goods to your original payment method within 5 working days. The postage you originally paid is not refunded on a change-of-mind return.

This clause is separate from, and in addition to, your rights under clause 8. A faulty device is not a change of mind and is never treated as one.

8. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These guarantees apply to second-hand goods. What counts as acceptable quality is judged against what a reasonable consumer would expect given the age, the price and the described condition of the device — which is why clause 2 describes that condition honestly rather than flatteringly.

Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Where any part of this document is inconsistent with them, the Australian Consumer Law prevails. To make a claim, email [email protected] with your order reference and a description of the problem.

9. Our warranty

Assume no manufacturer warranty comes with your device. Any manufacturer’s or retailer’s warranty is subject to that provider’s own terms, including whatever those terms say about transfer to a later owner. We make no representation that one applies to your device, and if you have the cameras disconnected the device has been opened, which would end one in any case. We would rather say that plainly than let you discover it.

In its place, Stealthline warrants each device for 30 days from the date you receive it. If it develops a fault in that time, we will repair it, replace it, or refund you — our choice, made reasonably. We pay the postage both ways on a valid warranty claim.

This warranty does not cover:

  • accidental damage, drops, crushing or liquid;
  • normal battery ageing, as distinct from a battery that fails outright;
  • damage caused by you or by anyone else opening, repairing or modifying the device after delivery;
  • the Mullvad service or any preinstalled third-party application — see clause 3;
  • ordinary cosmetic wear.

This warranty is in addition to the Australian Consumer Law guarantees and does not replace them. Those guarantees are not limited to 30 days, and a device that fails after this warranty ends may still be covered by them. To claim, email [email protected] with your order reference.

10. Using the phone lawfully

You are responsible for ensuring that what you buy is lawful where you live and lawful to import. We ship internationally and we cannot advise on the law of every destination.

This matters most for the VPN option. Some countries restrict or prohibit the use of virtual private networks, and some restrict the import of devices configured for encrypted communication. Ordering to such a country is your decision and your risk. Where a parcel is seized or refused by customs we cannot recover it, and clause 6 applies.

You agree not to use anything bought here to break the law, and not to resell a device as new or as carrying a manufacturer warranty.

11. Accounts

An account is optional and is never required to buy. It exists so that you can see past orders and leave a review.

Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has access to it. We may suspend or close an account used to abuse the shop, to post unlawful content, or to attempt to interfere with the site. You may close your account at any time — see our privacy policy for what happens to your information when you do.

12. Reviews

You can review a product you have actually bought. Reviews are published with your username beside them, never your email address.

By posting a review you give us permission to display it on this site. You keep ownership of what you write, and you can delete it at any time. We may remove a review that is unlawful, abusive, impersonates somebody, contains another person’s private information, or is not about the product. We do not edit reviews to make them more favourable, and we do not remove one for being critical.

13. Intellectual property

The design, text, layout and images of this site are ours, and may not be copied or reused without permission. Product names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners — we sell those devices, we do not make them, and nothing here implies we are endorsed by or affiliated with their manufacturers.

14. Our liability

Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Those rights come first, and where this clause conflicts with them it does not apply.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law permits, our liability arising out of an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for loss of data, loss of profit, or loss arising from a third-party service such as the VPN. We back up nothing for you: a phone is a device that can be lost, damaged or stolen, and keeping your own copies of anything important on it is your responsibility.

We do not promise the website will be available without interruption.

15. Privacy

What we collect, why, who else sees it and how long we keep it is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: we never receive your card number, we run no analytics, and the configuration you chose is erased from your order after twelve months.

16. Changes, governing law and contact

Changes. We may amend these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published when you placed your order — amending them later does not change what was agreed at the time.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state. If you are a consumer in another country, this does not deprive you of the protection of the consumer law of the place you live.

If part of this is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.

Contact. [email protected], or 0422 246 203 during Australian business hours. For a complaint about how we have handled your information, clause 15 and the privacy policy set out the process.
